The Month of Elul: A Kiss from God

A Deep Look Into Ourselves

Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish holiday that is next month. It is the month of a New Year on the Hebrew calendar. Christianity calls this holy day The Feast of Trumpets.

The focus of the month of Elul is self-reflection. The name of the month means to harvest.

Ani L’Dodi V’Dodi Li”

Translates to, “I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me.”

Song of Songs 6:3

I am You and You are Me

God interacts in this world in two ways:

  1. From above to below.
  2. Through feminine waters in the Earth that rises up.

When we do the work of connecting to God we are accessing our free will to connect with Him. We ascend into Him as we elevate.

No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

John 3:13

God reciprocates from above to below with compassion and forgiveness. Although God is 100% holy, God meets us here on Earth on our level; whatever level we are at.

In our brokenness, God reveals to His children that He is here:

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

The Month of Elul

The King is in the field this month.

The King who is on His throne meets us where we are. The King meets us in the field where all His workers are at.

This month before Rosh Hashanah is about returning to our essence, to our true selves, and finding our wholeness.

This is a time where we own our past and learn to move forward.

Just Breathe…

On Rosh Hashanah, God breathes new life into us. As we inhale we are taking in His Breath.

The physical meets the spiritual — They join together in a passionate kiss.

God’s love is pure, deep, and divine.

A return to our true self reveals a love that is pure holiness.

The sign of the month is Virgo “The Virgin.”

The Virgin of Purity

Through repentance, we return to the root of our soul that is pure and whole. This is the essence of who we truly are.

Our Godly soul is ONE with God.

This month we have the ability to connect to our inner child, to be healed, and become ONE with God.
