To understand our spiritual selves better we need to understand that all the things that we do are a reflection of where our mind is at. What we desire is in our heart and what we do is our brain putting what is in our heart into action.
Who is God?
We are not God and we are not to worship other gods according to the Word of God, but what does that mean?? God wants us to know ourselves as spiritual beings. He wants us to identify with the spiritual that we are, but we do not understand our spiritual selves because what appears to be real is what we can physically see.
We can see, taste, and touch the physical, but can we REALLY?
You are a infinite spiritual being having a temporary human experience.
Our spiritual self is who we are, our physical body ages and looses its beauty over time, but our spiritual selves are meant to always grow into a better version of itself by identifying with what is TRUE and REAL. Our spiritual self lives on, but our physical selves die in time.
Who Are WE?
The bottom line that we need to ask ourselves is: Are we a god, have we made an image our god or do we worship God? Defining who we are depends on which god we follow.
You say you do not understand the God of the Bible?
Well, the God of the Bible made you in His image, which means we all have an inherited piece of God within ourself that connects us to Him if we seek Him.
In the Darkness is a Pinpoint of Light
We have been born in sin, which created a dark, outer shell, that is our physical body, which contains our spirit. We need to strive to understand what is inside ourselves that is TRUE in the reflection of who God is.
The Fruit of the Spirit
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23
The beauty on the outside does not define us, but what is at the heart of all of our actions does. If we understand God, who is pure, holy, love then we are identifying ourselves to that love, which is who we actually are meant to be. Once we understand God’s love, then His love should be the only thing attractive to us.
Physicality is only surface and superficial.
The Problem with an Image
An image is not a TRUE reflection because of today’s sophisticated technology. An image can easily be altered. Lighting, filters, makeup, clothing, and specialized camera equipment highlight best features and mask all the bad ones. Photography gives an illusion of a kind of perfection that does not exist in reality.
When we make images our god or we want to be a god, we fool ourselves and each other. This type of god only quenches its ego — A lucrative industry due to the massive amount of attention and money it brings in.
But sex is selling a false message to you.
The sex in that photograph is not even real because it is self-satisfying, superficial, and carries no meaning. It will leave one empty and always hungering for more.
God is Rewarding and Fully Satisfies
Our God is deep, intimate and loving. He is not selfish or self-satisfying because He is infinitely giving His love to us.
The Archnemesis
He is the worst of the worst,
A slithering snake that is cursed.
His ego defines him,
He is what is sin.
He is blind to the core,
He is a thief wanting more.
He comes with a kiss,
But it's you he'll dismiss.
Leave you broken and hollow,
He is ruthless and shallow.
He is very persistent,
In evil doings he's fluent.
He is cunning and smart,
And he'll stab you through the heart.
Watch out! Lest you find,
You become deaf and then blind.
